“Murree Rail Link: Pakistan’s Revolutionary Glass Train – A Promising New Era for Tourism!”

For the first time in Pakistan, a Glass Train will operate from Rawalpindi to Murree, allowing travelers to enjoy the stunning views of nature along the way. The government has officially approved this exciting project and has formed a team of 18 different departments to begin planning.

The train will start its journey from Rawalpindi and travel through Islamabad, eventually reaching Burban, which is near Murree. This new railway will cover a total distance of 65 kilometers and is named the Murree Rail Link. The Punjab transport minister will lead the team, which includes key officials like the commissioner of Rawalpindi and deputy commissioners from both Rawalpindi and Murree.

The National Engineering and Scientific Commission (NESCOM) has been assigned to conduct a feasibility study for the project. This study will look into important factors such as costs and how long it will take to complete. The project was formally approved by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz during a meeting on June 29, 2024, as part of a broader plan to develop the Murree area.

This new railway is expected to significantly boost tourism in Murree, which will create excellent job opportunities for local residents. It will also help reduce traffic congestion and pollution in the area, leading to a cleaner and more enjoyable environment for both locals and visitors. A senior official involved in the project mentioned that drone footage of the proposed train route has already been captured to assist with planning.

The working team will also address any challenges that might come up, such as acquiring land for the railway tracks and stations. They will suggest solutions to the Punjab government to ensure everything goes smoothly. Once the feasibility report is finished, they will determine the overall costs and how long the project will take to complete.

Conclusion:

Murree Rail Link project aims not only to provide a beautiful travel experience with scenic views but also to uplift the local economy. This initiative marks an important step forward for transportation and tourism in Pakistan, promising to enhance the experience for all who visit.
